New information available on the PEGASO Wiki

Two wiki articles have recently been published in the PEGASO Wiki.

An article regarding the elaboration and use of PEGASO project indicators for integrated coastal zone management (IZCM) in the Mediterranean and Black Seas was elaborated by the partners from Valaams Instituut voor de Zee (Belgium). The coastal indicator framework consist of a series of factsheets that provide background information and the policy context on a set of variables that will be used for assessing the status of the coastal regional seas and the progress on the implementation of the Protocol on Integrated Coastal Zone Management in the Mediterranean . The selection of the most suitable indicators as a key step in developing coastal management objectives and evaluating monitoring programs was developed through a desk top review of current practices and in depth discussions with all the partners.

On the other hand, the team of the University Ca´Foscari of Venice (UNIVE) elaborated an article on the participatory methods that are being implemented in the PEGASO project. Stakeholder participation played an important part in any ICZM process and its relevance is also highlighted on the article 14 from the ICZM Mediterranean Protocol. Under the PEGASO umbrella, the participatory process has been explored at various geographical scales and regional settings with the CASE sites, providing a good opportunity to promote better understanding on the ICZM process and the integration and coordination challenges at different situations.
